NAHRI announces Peer Recognition Program nominees

NAHRI supports the professional accomplishment of all its members. As part of 2023 Revenue Integrity Week (June 5-9), NAHRI opened nominations to its Peer Recognition Program to recognize revenue integrity professionals for their contributions to the field and for the ways in which they have helped their peers. The following revenue integrity professionals were nominated by their peers to receive Certificates of Recognition from NAHRI’s Peer Recognition Program:

  • Amanda Ray, RHIT, CPC, director of billing compliance at Inova Health System in Falls Church, Virigina, was nominated by Katie Boykin, BSN, RN, CHRI, director of revenue integrity at WakeMed Health and Hospitals in Raleigh, North Carolina. “Amanda has held multiple leadership roles within revenue cycle and revenue integrity.  She is an excellent leader and excels in every role she's held,” Boykin says. “She is always willing to share her experience and knowledge with others. Amanda is a creative problem solver and works outside the box when situations get complicated. I value her as a colleague and a friend. She deserves to be recognized for all of her professional and personal achievements.”
  • Amie James-Durden, BSN, charge integrity analyst at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida, was nominated by Angela Mignosa RHIT, CCS, CRCR, charge integrity analyst at Baptist Medical Center. “[Amie is] always willing to help and give her experienced advice,” Mignosa says.
  • Jade Adamski, revenue integrity manager at Sparrow Health System in Lansing, Michigan, was nominated by Heather Velaga, director of revenue integrity at Sparrow Health System. “I have known Jade for 10 plus years and have worked with closely for the past 5 plus years,” Velaga says. “She is the type of employee everyone needs on their team. She is kindhearted and always willing to lend a helping hand. Her expertise and professionalism are highly valued across our health system. She was recently promoted from revenue integrity supervisor to revenue integrity manager. She deserves this certificate of recognition because of her daily dedication to our team. She goes above and beyond every single day.”
  • Janet Perry, CPC, charge master at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida, was nominated by Angela Mignosa RHIT, CCS, CRCR, charge integrity analyst at Baptist Medical Center. “[Janet] always gives extra information when you ask her a question,” Mignosa says.
  • Kori Christle, analyst, CDM II, chargemaster, at Baptist Medical in Jacksonville, Florida, was nominated by Stacy Greenslet, charge integrity analyst at Baptist Medical, and Angela Mignosa, RHIT, CCS, CRCR, charge integrity analyst at Baptist Medical Center. “Kori has a vast amount of knowledge in the revenue system and is always ready and willing to help others,” Greenslet says.
    “[Kori is] always willing to explain further when you ask a question,” Mignosa says.
  • Lisa Fry, revenue integrity analyst at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was nominated by Lori Lawther, director of revenue integrity at Allegheny Health Network. “Lisa has done an extraordinary job working with the departments, performing audits, and finding additional revenue,” Lawther says.
  • Mariza Ortiz, charge integrity analyst at Baptist Medical in Jacksonville, Florida, was nominated by Stacy Greenslet, charge integrity analyst at Baptist Medical. “Mariza is very kind and has a great attitude and willingness to teach others,” Greenslet says.
  • Megan Gwynes, charge master at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida, was nominated by Angela Mignosa RHIT, CCS, CRCR, charge integrity analyst at Baptist Medical Center. “She is very willing to help and to educate when you ask her a question. It is very appreciated,” Mignosa says.
  • Penney Tierney, revenue integrity charge capture analyst at Augusta University Medical Center (AUMC) in Augusta, Georgia, was nominated by Heather Hendrix at AUMC. “Penney is a great asset to the AUMC revenue integrity team, bringing her varied healthcare experience, both from the clinical and coding perspective, to her role as a charge capture analyst. She is resourceful and asks questions. She is a teacher at heart, and she endeavors to educate staff when she finds the answers to current revenue cycle issues. She is currently utilizing her talents to provide an after-hours study group to our employees to prepare them for the CPC credential. She is a wonderful colleague and friend,” Hendrix says.
  • Rebecca Bacon, revenue integrity manager at Ascension Health in Binghamton, New York, was nominated by Lisa Forthofer, nurse auditor/data quality analyst at Ascension Health. “Becky has more knowledge, talent, experience, and smarts in her mouse-clicking finger than I have in my whole body,” Forthofer says. “She's a patient, kind person, compassionate, and a great leader. Her team is well rounded, accomplishes goals, and keeps growing. She's always there for us, and always has our team moving forward. What a fantastic leader and manager. And, she has a great sense of humor!! I'm very grateful to be on a team with her, she is a true asset to this organization. She's one of the best.”
  • Rebecca Miller, charge master at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida, was nominated by Angela Mignosa RHIT, CCS, CRCR, charge integrity analyst at Baptist Medical Center. “[Rebecca is] always willing to help and explain things,” Mignosa says.
  • Sandy Giangreco Brown, MHA, BS, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CHC, CPC, COC, CPC-I, COBGC, PCS, director of coding and revenue integrity at CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP, was nominated by Diane Weiss, CPC, CPB, CHRI, vice president of revenue integrity at RestorixHealth. “Sandy is a very knowledgeable and supportive revenue integrity colleague who is always willing to share her knowledge, time, and talent,” Weiss says.
  • Stephanie Lipoff, CPC, revenue integrity manager at University of Maryland Medical System in Linthicum, Maryland, was nominated by Jennifer W. Gardiner, senior director of revenue integrity at University of Maryland Medical System. “Stephanie is an excellent revenue integrity manager. She is a subject matter expert for her assigned subject lines as well as all things Epic,” Gardiner says. “She continually receives praise from her customers as someone who always takes the next step to answer their questions and to solve any problem—even if it is outside of a true revenue integrity scope. Stephanie is always willing to take on additional tasks and volunteers willingly for additional leadership roles within the organization. She has a very bright future in her career, and I am very fortunate that I get to work with her every day!”
  • Storm Hickerson, revenue integrity analyst at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was nominated by Lori Lawther, director of revenue integrity at Allegheny Health Network. “Storm, you consistently impress us with your ability to not only set ambitious goals but to achieve them. You have brought so much knowledge and expertise to our small but mighty team. Thank you,” Lawther says.
  • Tara Stawiarski, revenue integrity analyst at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was nominated by Lori Lawther, director of revenue integrity at Allegheny Health Network. “Tara, we’re so impressed with your expertise on auditing and finding missed revenue. You’re awesome at what you do, and you bring great value to the team,” Lawther says.
