Plot your career course with insights from NAHRI’s 2021 Revenue Integrity Salary Survey
Figuring how to take the next step in your career is challenge—now more than ever. The ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has seen many hospitals tighten their belts, slashing salaries and cutting staff members’ hours among other cost-saving measures. Although most hospitals have been able to reverse the most drastic actions, restoring reduced hours and salaries, revenue integrity professionals often face new, tougher barriers to increasing their compensation or even getting approval for additional resources, such as staff, to improve the revenue integrity department.
A new landscape calls for a new roadmap—and that’s where NAHRI’s 2021 Revenue Integrity Salary Survey comes in. The data and insights collected through the survey will be developed into a comprehensive report that will provide the guidance you need to make critical choices for your career and your department. The report, which will be released in an upcoming issue of the NAHRI Journal, will offer data and analysis that can be used to help set salary and staffing benchmarks for revenue integrity departments. It also offers guideposts and practical tips on key skills and other attributes that can help improve your earning power.
For example, does education truly affect revenue integrity salaries? Based on preliminary results of the 2021 Revenue Integrity Salary Survey, those with advanced degrees do see a corresponding increase in wages. Respondents who hold a bachelor’s degree are most likely to earn $80,000–$89,999 annually, while those who hold a master’s degree are most likely to earn $90,000–$99,999 annually. That information may help you if you’ve been weighing the value of completing a more advanced degree.
