by Kevin Duffy

It’s a new year, and NAHRI is excited to provide unique educational opportunities throughout 2021.

We’ll get the ball rolling with next week’s members-only Quarterly Call, which features presentations on the 2021 OPPS final rule and the new price transparency requirements. As the year progresses, we’ll have plenty of educational offering, both in the virtual format and (fingers crossed) in person.

Let’s review everything coming up in 2021:

January Quarterly Call

NAHRI’s first members-only Quarterly Call of 2021 will be held Tuesday, January 26 from 1–2 p.m. Eastern. The call features association updates from NAHRI Director Jaclyn Fitzgerald, CHRI, as well as informative presentations on industry hot topics. Ogi C. Kwon, JD, MHA, manager, regulatory compliance, R1 RCM in Chicago, will offer a detailed look at price transparency regulations that are currently at the top of mind for hospitals across the country. Following Kwon’s presentation, Jerilyn P. Morrissey, MD, vice president, client performance and revenue integrity, Versalus Health in Newton Square, Pennsylvania, will discuss the phasing out of the inpatient-only list introduced in CY 2021 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) final rule.

Listening in on NAHRI Quarterly Calls can help you earn CEUs toward your CHRI recertification. NAHRI will host its second 2021 Quarterly Call on Tuesday, April 27 from 1–2 p.m. Eastern. Additional information is available on the registration page.

2021 Revenue Integrity Symposium

The 2021 Revenue Integrity Symposium (RIS) is the can’t-miss event for revenue integrity, revenue cycle, and Medicare compliance education and high-level networking. Learn from trusted experts with cutting-edge regulatory insight that will arm you with the tools you need to take 2022 by storm.

This year’s event will be held October 19–20 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida. NAHRI is currently seeking healthcare professionals who are willing to throw their hat into the RIS ring and submit proposals for the 2021 symposium. We seek proposals on everything from regulatory updates to operational strategies to case studies. Whether your passion is sharing a story about the great things happening at your facility, relating lessons learned as you hit roadblocks, or breaking down Medicare complexities into actionable strategies, 2021 RIS is the place for you. We are open to all speaker applications, whether you are a new or seasoned speaker. RIS is the perfect place to gain experience and hone your speaking skills.

Click here to begin your submission. The NAHRI Conference Committee will review applications through January 26, 2021, so get yours in today.

RIS presentation topics will include highlights of IPPS, OPPS, and MPFS annual updates, as well as enhancing your revenue integrity program through the use of analytics, metrics, and key performance indicators.
