It’s hard to believe planning for the 2019 Revenue Integrity Symposium (RIS) is already underway. It feels like just yesterday we were all gathered in Phoenix exchanging ideas, learning about the latest regulatory changes, and soaking up that desert sun at 2018 RIS. The symposium is NAHRI’s official annual conference and you do not want to miss what we have in store this year.

We will once again get the chance to enjoy warm temperatures together as we meet in the Sunshine State for 2019 RIS. The main conference is scheduled for October 15–16 at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld, just a short drive from Disney World parks, shopping, and dining.

Dubbed a motivational pyromaniac, Keynote Speaker Denise Ryan, MBA, CSP, owner of FireStar Speaking in Raleigh, North Carolina, will kick off day one with her blend of humor and enthusiasm. After earning millions for clients in the corporate world, Ryan realized she had a talent for firing people up. She parlayed this gift into FireStar, a company specializing in enthusiasm. Ryan’s no-nonsense, direct delivery coupled with her astute business savvy and irreverent wit leave audiences not only laughing, but with actionable tips for enriching your professional and personal life.

The remainder of the 2019 RIS agenda is forthcoming. If you’re interested in taking the stage to share your knowledge and enthusiasm about acute or postacute revenue integrity, revenue cycle, billing, compliance, and more, throw your hat into the ring by completing our Call for Speakers Application before February 22. NAHRI will waive admission fees to 2019 RIS for all selected speakers and co-speakers. Conference sessions are typically one hour in length and selected presenters will be expected to submit PowerPoint materials at a later date. Speakers are eligible to earn CHRI CEUs for their time and dedication. If you have questions about the application or event, please reach out to me.

In addition to our main conference, we have several pre- and post-conference options available with discounts for professionals who attend both the main and pre- or post-conference. Our popular Medicare Boot Camp® — Utilization Review Version will be held prior to the main conference on October 13–14. After the main event wraps up, stick around and join us for one of two post-conferences, the Medicare Boot Camp — Audits, Appeals, and Denials Version or the Medicare Boot Camp — Provider-Based Departments Version (both October 17–18).

Information on discounted hotel rates and CEUs will be available soon. In the meantime, register now to take advantage of our early bird discount and save $100. If you’re a NAHRI member, you’ll save an additional $100. Not a member? No problem. Sign up for NAHRI 365, our year-round, all-access pass that bundles your association membership and symposium fees at one low rate.

We also have an exciting opportunity for managers, supervisors, and directors of revenue integrity working in the hospital setting to gather just before 2019 RIS for our Revenue Integrity Leadership Exchange (RILX) at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld on October 13–14. We are currently recruiting for this event where approximately 25 of the most forward-thinking revenue integrity leaders from across the country network and learn from each other in peer-to-peer roundtable discussions. There is no fee to attend, and we will cover your hotel accommodations and provide all meals if you choose to join us at the Exchange. You are only responsible for travel costs. Please reach out to me directly at jfitzgerald@hcpro.com to determine your eligibility based on your professional experience.

I look forward to seeing you all in Orlando.
