Note from the Director: Revenue Integrity Week sneak peek
Calling all Revenue Integrity Investigators! Revenue Integrity Week (June 1‒5) is just days away and NAHRI has a lot in store to ensure we all recognize the dedication of revenue integrity professionals while taking some time for education, networking, and most importantly fun.
While most of us can’t meet face-to-face for our Revenue Integrity Week celebrations this year, there are still plenty of ways to connect with your peers and get into the spirit of this year’s theme, Revenue Integrity Investigation: The Case of the Missing Revenue.
Connect with your team
The keys to any good investigation are collaborating with peers, asking questions, and sharing ideas—and that’s exactly what we want you to do next week.
Encourage team members to don their best investigator garb and hop on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or the like to catch up. Add a creative background to your meeting space to really dig into the theme. Vote on your favorite costume and award a prize for top investigator. And don’t forget to share your photos or virtual meeting screen shots with us using the hashtag #RevenueIntegrityWeek on Twitter and Facebook.
NAHRI has a number of activities available to help tailor your virtual celebrations while testing your revenue integrity knowledge, including a word search, crossword, trivia, and other games. Head over to our website now to select the activities that best meet the style of the revenue integrity investigators you work with every day. Encourage a little healthy competition by awarding prizes for your game winners as well!
Education is the key to continuing to uncover missed revenue at your facility, so we have several programs in store for you next week. Each day, NAHRI members will gain access to a free on-demand webinar through our website. We will announce the availability of each webinar in our Revenue Integrity Insider enewsletter, which will hit your inbox each day during Revenue Integrity Week. (It’s free to subscribe to our enewsletter, so be sure to pass the word along to your peers so they can be in the know as well.) When planning your celebration, be sure to set aside an hour or two to stream one or more of these webinars as a team and then find a time to discuss key takeaways after the program.
If a live webinar is more your style, tune into Financial Best Practice for Emergency Services Revenue Cycle on Thursday, June 4, from 1-2 p.m. Eastern. During this program, you’ll hear Vitalware’s William L. Malm, ND, CHIAP, CRCR, CMAS, RN, discuss the role of charge capture in facility and physician revenue success and offer tips on creating an internal audit process for root cause remediation. Register for free today.
On the first day of Revenue Integrity Week, we will release our third annual State of the Revenue Integrity Industry Survey Report. This detailed report is packed with real-life data from professionals across the country and features commentary from experts in the field. We compare trends year over year so you can see how revenue integrity evolves and ensure your processes are up to date. Once available, distribute the report to your team, sleuth through it, and schedule a follow-up meeting where you can put your Revenue Integrity Investigator skills to work by sharing key takeaways and actionable strategies. This year’s report features brand new sections on revenue leakage and charge reconciliation. And, as always, we examine professional background and experience, primary and supporting revenue integrity functions, and chargemaster maintenance and price transparency.
