Planning is underway for the Fifth Annual Revenue Integrity Symposium (RIS), and this is one event you won’t want to miss taking an active role in. This year, we gather October 6–7, 2020, in Westminster (Denver), Colorado. RIS is NAHRI’s national conference—your chance to gather with likeminded professionals from across the country to make lasting connections while learning the latest strategies to excel in your career. And what better way to showcase your passion for revenue integrity and your ever-evolving skillset than getting up on stage and presenting to an audience of your peers.

Our call for speakers is open through February 3 at https://2020revenueintegritysymposiumcfp.hubb.me. We seek speakers of all backgrounds and skillsets as we aim to educate professionals on basic, intermediate, and advanced topics impacting the revenue integrity profession. We welcome traditional presentation styles as well as panel sessions, poster sessions, roundtables, and workshops. Get creative and show off your knowledge in the format that best suits to you!

More specifically, we are looking for sessions for the following tracks:

  • Acute care regulatory changes and hot topics
  • Revenue integrity and reimbursement strategies
  • Acute care coding and documentation
  • Chargemaster and charge capture strategies
  • Denials, audits, and appeals
  • Patient status and utilization review strategies
  • Professional development
  • Long-term care

If you don't see your hot topic listed here, please write and let us know what expertise you can bring to the podium. Original ideas not included above are welcomed. Presentations may be geared toward beginner, intermediate, or advanced levels.

Sessions at the RIS are approximately one hour in total length; the presentation portion is 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes of Q&A. Applicants should be prepared to present for the entire 45 minutes.

Admission fee to the 2020 Revenue Integrity Symposium is waived for speakers whose presentations are selected. However, we do not offer honorariums or cover travel and hotel expenses. Breakfast and lunch are provided both days of the event, which helps speakers minimize out-of-pocket expenses for meals.

As a reminder, registration is now open for RIS. NAHRI members save an additional $100 off our early bird pricing. Learn more at www.hcmarketplace.com/ris2020.

Please email me at jfitzgerald@hcpro.com if you have questions about the event and/or call for speakers.

I look forward to seeing you there!
