Revenue integrity professionals gain knowledge, make connections at 2024 RIS
Revenue integrity professionals gathered for two days of meaningful networking and intensive education at the 2024 Revenue Integrity Symposium (RIS), held September 12-13 in Oak Brook, Illinois. 2024 RIS was bigger and better than ever, with three tracks tailored to revenue integrity and revenue cycle education including a new, third track, offered in partnership with NAHRI’s sister association ACDIS, dedicated to denials management.
Attendees started day one with breakfast and networking the exhibit hall before heading to the general session room. NAHRI Director Nicole Votta kicked things off with opening remarks and the latest NAHRI news and updates. Then keynote speaker Jones Loflin took the stage for an energizing, impactful, and interactive session. Loflin helped attendees identify and focus on their goals and needs and equipped them with the tools to make the most of RIS’ educational opportunities. Then, attendees chose from three tracks of breakout sessions, including insights on how to hold Medicare Advantage plans accountable, integrating revenue integrity into clinical workflows, and tips for applying technology to solve denials. After lunch, attendees rounded out their day one education by picking from tracks on managing and addressing payer policies, revenue integrity program development, and pre- and postpayment reviews. At the end of day one, attendees caught up with new connections and enjoyed refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres at our networking reception.
Day two kicked off with a general session featuring members of the NAHRI Advisory Board diving into key data points on revenue integrity’s current and future states. Breakout sessions on day two covered topics ranging from charge audits, NCCI edits, appeals, and creating successful interdepartmental denials management teams. After the event adjourned, attendees headed back to their organizations with a wealth of new ideas and connections that will help them make a meaningful difference right away.
