Q: What are you most excited about for this year’s Revenue Integrity Symposium (RIS)?
Goodman: I am excited to be presenting alongside my longtime colleagues, Rosemary Holliday, Kay Larsen, and Linda J. McCray, at this year’s virtual RIS. We will discuss the chargemaster and charge capture in our session entitled, “The CDM: Tales from a CFO, Coordinator, Consultant and Vendor.” This unique, interactive panel presentation will use real-life examples to explain the role of the CDM coordinator, CFO, and outside consultants and vendors in maintaining an up to date CDM and in promoting revenue integrity in the facility setting.
Q: What’s one of the most important pieces of information you would like people to take away from your session?
Goodman: In addition to taking away industry standard revenue integrity tips, I am hopeful that attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the benefits of collaboration among professionals, both internal and external, to their facility.
Q: What’s the biggest challenge in revenue integrity right now? How does your session help tackle this?
Goodman: One of the biggest challenges at the moment is simply keeping revenue integrity at the forefront while so many entities are still recovering from the public health emergency and trying to do more with less. Our panel of experts will offer some of the latest tips and practical perspectives on addressing revenue integrity challenges in the aftermath of the pandemic.
