Note from the speaker: Practical information for revenue integrity professionals

The Revenue Integrity Symposium is the only conference I have seen that is packed with sessions that will give revenue integrity professionals practical information that they can take back and institute the next day to help their facility success financially.

This year’s symposium will be held October 15–16 in Orlando. If I dared to go to Harry Potter Land without my daughters (who are 30 and 32 years old), I would never hear the end of it. So, I’m sticking with hanging out at the pool when I’m not in one of the symposium’s information-packed sessions.

In my session, I will be doing a deep dive into observation. As simple as it seems, there are lots of nuances to observation that can have dramatic effects on a hospital’s revenue. And it may be resulting in lost compliant revenue that the facility does not even know they are losing. My session will be on day two (October 16) at 10:40 a.m.

The Revenue Integrity Symposium offers a range of sessions and speakers. I am personally excited to hear from Marc Hartstein, MA, who worked with CMS for 26 years and was an integral part of the CMS team that developed the 2-midnight rule. It will be fascinating to get a look at what was happening behind the curtain as the rule was developed and rolled out. Marc has sessions on the 2-midnight rule and lab date of service requirements.
